BiochemCity is a unique mobile application that introduces a fresh approach to teaching core biochemical material such as biochemical reactions and networks. The app offers an innovative way to navigate through intricate metabolic pathways within an edutainment environment, presenting an effective alternative learning method. The concept draws parallels between metabolic pathways and a real road network, visually demonstrating the connections between different components that may seem distant in traditional curriculum or textbooks.
The application features a 3D city backdrop where users must navigate using street lamps that are integrated into over 150 mini-games. Each mini-game corresponds to a hidden biochemical reaction, and successfully completing these activities on the graphical interface illuminates more of the city, symbolizing a deeper understanding of the subject matter – more light representing more knowledge.
One of BiochemCity's standout features is its language-independent design, as the curriculum is primarily presented visually without relying on language interfaces, allowing for versatile use in various linguistic environments.
